Paint Shop Pro Scripts

Posted by Howard Dickson

The main content of this website is the scripts I write for Corel's Paint Shop Pro. These scripts are files which, when run in PSP, automatically apply creative effects to your images. They can therefore be used by beginners, who simply want to make the most of their photos, without the need for in-depth knowledge, or by keen photographers as part of their post processing or creative workflow. Most of my scripts fall into two categories... traditional darkroom techniques converted to digital darkroom effects, or creative artwork effects. All scripts can be run individually to give a single effect, or in combination with another to add yet more creative flexibility. The fun of this is that you can 'Undo' at any stage until you get the effect you are after. With some scripts, such as Sketch and other 'fine detail' scripts, best results will be returned from larger original images, so it may be best to resize smaller images to 3000-5000 pixels on the longest edge before applying the script.

There are now over 70 scripts available in the Sheilsoft scripts collection, the majority of which are free to download. There are also select 'premium' scripts which you can either purchase (via Paypal) individually, or as part of the complete scripts collection. There are versions of these scripts available for PSP v9, and PSP X-X3, as there were minor changes to the tool settings between v9 & vX. We no longer support PSP v8, but for users wishing to use my scripts, PSP9 can still be bought very cheaply online (eBay), and is actually my preferred version.

For further PSP info, and interaction with other users, there are a number of Corel newsgroups that cover various PSP related topics...

It's also worth ensuring that you have the latest free updates for your version of Paint Shop Pro, which you can download from here.
